Units and Filters We Service
AHU (Air Handling Unit) Repair for Facilities
The air handling unit (AHU) is the heart of HVAC and ventilation in hospitals and factories, controlling air temperature, humidity, cleanliness and fresh-air intake. Brands common in Egypt include Carrier, York, Trane, SKM and Petra.
An AHU consists of a centrifugal blower fan, a cooling coil, multi-stage filters and a humidity control system. The unit runs at high air pressures and requires precise belt tensioning and periodic bearing lubrication to prevent sudden shutdowns.
Signs it needs service
- Noticeably weak airflow throughout the building
- Rising noise and vibration coming from the unit
- Foul or musty odors at the air outlets
- Water leaking out of the condensate drain pan
- Differential pressure reading climbing on the gauges
- Sudden fan stoppage with a metallic rubbing noise
- Inability to reach the required temperature or humidity
- Alarm lights flashing on the control panel (Filter Clogged)
Common faults
- Worn or snapped fan belts — one of the most common faults
- Severe clogging of the primary and secondary filters
- Worn motor or fan bearings
- Cooling coil fouled with dust and bacteria
- Faulty chilled-water control valve actuators
- Damaged power cables or contactors in the control panel
- Blocked condensate drain lines and standing water
- Faulty temperature and humidity sensors
What we do
- Replacing fan belts (original or compatible) and setting tension and alignment
- Replacing motor and fan bearings (SKF, NTN or equivalent)
- Chemical washing and disinfection of coils to remove fungi
- Supplying and fitting all filter types (Primary, Bag, HEPA)
- Repairing and programming control valves and actuators
- Lubricating and greasing mechanical moving points
- Cleaning and disinfecting drain pans and air ducts
- Calibrating central control systems and electrical panels
Care tips
- Check belt tension regularly with the unit isolated — a loose belt cuts airflow and wastes energy
- Clean the condensate pan regularly so standing water does not become a source of bacteria and odours
- Review the differential-pressure gauges regularly — they are the first indicator of filter condition
- Never open the unit doors while it is running — the fan and belts are a hazard. Isolate and lock out the power at the panel before checking belts or filters
- Stick to the periodic lubrication schedule for a quiet, long-lived fan
Questions
Water is overflowing the drain pan — what is the cause?
Usually a blocked drain line or algae buildup in the pan, and sometimes an incorrect pan slope. It must be cleared immediately. Call 16062.
How often should the belts be changed?
Belts are replaced annually as a preventive measure, or whenever cracks appear or a squealing noise is heard on startup.
Do you service the heat recovery wheel?
Yes, we clean it and inspect its motor and belt to ensure efficient energy recovery.
FCU (Fan Coil Unit) Repair for Facilities
Fan coil units (FCUs) are the terminal units in chilled-water central HVAC systems, widely used in hotel rooms, hospitals and offices. We repair Carrier, Trane, York and other units.
An FCU consists of a copper coil, a small fan and a filter. Its efficiency depends on chilled-water flow and coil cleanliness. The common faults are condensate water leaks, fan motor failure and 3-way valve actuator failure.
Signs it needs service
- Water leaking from the ceiling directly above the unit
- The unit runs but the discharge air is warm (no cooling)
- A buzzing or rattling noise from the indoor fan
- The unit stops working entirely and the thermostat is unresponsive
- Foul odors when the unit first starts
- Severely weak airflow from the grilles
Common faults
- Blocked drain pan and sediment buildup — one of the most common faults
- Burned-out fan motor or capacitor
- Faulty 3-way valve actuator
- Coil fouled with dust and construction debris (in new projects)
- Faulty thermostat or control wiring
- Clogged small mesh filter
What we do
- Clearing and cleaning drain pans and drain lines
- Replacing the fan motor and capacitor with original or compatible parts
- Replacing 3-way control valves
- Washing the coil with safe chemical agents
- Replacing the thermostat and calibrating temperatures
- Cleaning and sanitizing filters and air outlets
Care tips
- Clean the filter monthly; it is the first line of defense for coil cleanliness
- Make sure water valves are well insulated to prevent sweating and dripping
- Inspect the drain pump (if fitted) before the start of summer
Questions
The AC is not cooling even though the fan runs — why?
Usually the actuator is faulty and does not open to let cold water through, or the coil is completely clogged with dust.
Why does the fan coil produce a bad smell?
Usually bacterial growth in the drain pan from stagnant water. The fix is cleaning the pan, clearing the drain and disinfecting it.
HEPA Filter Service and Replacement
HEPA filters are high-efficiency filters that capture fine particles and airborne bacteria, essential for operating rooms, laboratories and pharmaceutical plants. We supply H13 and H14 filters to the required size and class, and check each filter's test certificate before installation.
HEPA filters are the final stage of air purification, and they need very precise installation so that no unfiltered air bypasses them. We measure the pressure differential across the filter and check the gaskets and seating to verify its integrity.
Signs it needs service
- Failed air quality test
- Sharp drop in air pressure inside the sterile room
- Appearance of dust particles or unusual odors
- A "High Pressure Drop" alert on the control panel
- Visible holes or tears in the pleated filter media
- Air leaking from the sides of the filter frame (gasket leak)
Common faults
- Filter clogged with dust because the pre-filters before it failed — one of the most common causes
- Damaged gasket around the filter causing leakage
- A puncture in the delicate filter media during cleaning or incorrect installation
- Fungal growth on the filter surface from high humidity
- Corrosion of the filter metal frame
What we do
- Supplying and replacing HEPA filters (H13 and H14)
- Filter integrity tests (DOP/PAO) and particle counts, arranged per project
- Measuring air velocity and laminar flow distribution
- Sanitizing filter terminal housings
- Repairing frame and gasket leaks
Care tips
- Never touch the pleated filter surface; it is very delicate and any touch can puncture it
- Change the pre-filters regularly to protect the expensive HEPA filters
- Make sure the filter is installed in the correct airflow direction
- Keep the certificate of origin and test report for every filter installed for quality audits
Questions
How often do we change the HEPA filter?
It depends on how clean the environment is and on the pre-filters — often every 18 to 24 months, or when the pressure drop reaches the replacement limit set by the manufacturer (often around double the clean-filter reading).
Can a HEPA filter be cleaned?
No. HEPA filters are never cleaned with air or water; cleaning damages the filter media and makes it ineffective, so the filter is replaced.
What is the difference between H13 and H14?
H14 (99.995% or better) lets through about ten times fewer particles than H13 (99.95% or better), so it is used in the most sensitive areas.

How We Work
- 01
Call 16062
Tell us the unit type (AHU, FCU or HEPA) and its location. If you have a pressure reading or a BMS alarm, mention it. We then determine the equipment required.
- 02
Visual Inspection and Measurements
We check the filters, coil, fan and drain, measure filter pressure and air temperature, and determine whether the problem is airflow, cooling or contamination.
- 03
Report and Plan
We provide a list of the parts and filters required. If the unit is in a critical area, we define a safe isolation method. The price is confirmed before any work is carried out.
- 04
Maintenance and Disinfection
We replace the filters, clean the coil and drain, and adjust the belt and VFD. For HEPA filters we check the seating and gaskets. The unit is brought back into service gradually.

Why Agent Site?
Prepared Before the Visit
On the call we identify the unit type, its location and how sensitive its operation is — a hospital or clean room is planned differently — so the technician arrives with the right filters and measuring instruments.
Full Understanding of the Components
An AHU involves filters, coils, fans, humidity and pressure, so we inspect the whole chain — replacing a filter alone is not always the solution.
Pressure and Filter Reports
In hospitals and clean rooms, pressure differentials and the condition of the HEPA filters matter, so we hand over reports with pressure readings and filter condition to help the facility team keep track.
Original or Compatible Filters, Matched to Spec
We supply pre-filters, bag filters and HEPA filters in the right size and class, and check the airflow direction and gaskets — a filter that does not match the spec lets unfiltered air leak through.
Scheduling Without Disruption
We schedule the visit at a time that suits the facility, away from peak hours; if the unit cannot be stopped, we agree with the facility team on running a standby unit or working in stages.
Handover Measurements
We measure airflow, filter pressure drop and Delta T, and hand over a clear report.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book AHU maintenance?
Call 16062 and tell us the unit’s location, its type and the problem. We arrange a visit with Airflow and Pressure Drop measurements.
What is the difference between an AHU and an FCU?
An AHU is a central unit that treats large volumes of air, with filtration and air mixing. An FCU is smaller, serving a single room or zone, and is usually 2-Pipe or 4-Pipe.
Do you supply HEPA H13 and H14 filters?
Yes, by size and class; we check that the filter is seated correctly and measure the pressure after installation. Send us the filter size and class.
Do you offer maintenance contracts for hospitals?
Yes. The contract covers filter changes, measurements and periodic reports; its price is set after a survey of the units, based on their number and the critical areas.
Our clean room has lost pressure — what is the cause?
It may be a clogged filter, a closed damper, a weak fan or leakage around the doors. An inspection with pressure-differential measurements identifies the cause.
Do you cover pharmaceutical plants outside Cairo?
Yes, within our coverage — for example 10th of Ramadan City (Sharqia), Borg El Arab (Alexandria) and the industrial zones of Qalyubia, Gharbia and Dakahlia. Sadat City and Upper Egypt are not in our service area at the moment.
Do you install new HEPA filters?
Yes. We install them, check the gaskets and orientation, and measure the pressure after installation. Specialised leak tests (DOP/PAO) and particle counts are arranged per project.
How long do filters last?
A Pre-Filter may need changing monthly or quarterly, a Bag filter lasts longer, and a HEPA filter depends on pressure and usage. Measuring beats guessing.

Need an air handling unit technician?
Poorly controlled air in a hospital or clean room is not a minor issue. Call 16062 and get the measurements done right.
