Toshiba Repair

Toshiba top-loader stopped with water still inside? Food rock-hard in the freezer while the vegetables below are not cold? The appliances in Egyptian homes under this name include ones sold under Elaraby Group's warranty and newer appliances that Midea now markets here. Either way, many faults start with a filter, a hose or an air duct before they reach a board or a motor. Here are those faults, and when a fault needs a technician.

Toshiba in Egypt: from Elaraby to Midea

front-loading washing machine — illustrative photo

Elaraby Group began distributing Japan's Toshiba appliances in Egypt in 1974, and later built fridges, washers and TVs under that name in its own factories, including the Quesna industrial complex founded in 1999. In 2016 China's Midea bought the majority of Toshiba Lifestyle, the home appliance company, with the right to use the name for 40 years, and in December 2025 Elaraby announced it was ending its industrial and commercial agreements with Toshiba Home Appliances at the end of that year. Today the brand's Egyptian website is run by Midea Electrics Egypt.

The model code tells you the appliance type. On the models sold now, a front-loading washer's code starts with TW and a top-loader's with AW, fridges and upright freezers start with GR, microwaves with MW or ML, and on TVs the first number is the size: 55C350RP means 55 inches. The label is usually on the back of the washer, on the inner side wall of the fridge, and on the back of the TV and microwave. Photograph all of it, including the letters in brackets at the end, because parts from an appliance made years ago may not fit a newer model with the same name.

Toshiba washing machines repair

Book a technician

Toshiba washers sold in Egypt come in two types: top-loaders such as the AW-DUK1300KUPEG(MK), 13 kg with a Direct Drive motor, and front-loaders such as the TW-BK100GF4EG(MK), 9 kg with a 1400 rpm spin. The most common complaint is a washer that stops with water still inside, usually caused by a drain hose that is too high or blocked or a full filter, not the motor.

Before you book a technician for a Toshiba washer

Open the tap fully and check the inlet hose is not kinked. The top-loader manual asks you to check that the mesh on the inlet valve is not blocked with dirt, and that the end of the drain hose is not hung very high or sitting in standing water. The front-loader manual says the inlet mesh must be cleaned whenever the water pressure drops compared with before.

The code appears on the display: on top-loaders it is the letter E followed by a number. Photograph it, note the stage where the washer stopped, and photograph the model label, which is usually on the back. On front-loaders the pump filter sits behind the small flap at the bottom front, with an emergency hose beside it to drain the water before you open the filter.

Opening the pump filter lets out all the water left in the drum. Unplug the washer first, let the water cool if you washed hot, and never open the pump cover during a cycle. When you refit the filter cap, seat it fully in its guides, because the manual warns it will leak if fitted at an angle.

Faults that keep coming up on Toshiba washers6

The washer does not fill (E1 on the AW-DUK series)

Easy

The programme starts but water does not come in or only trickles, and after a while the washer stops and shows the code.

Possible causes

  • The tap is closed or the water is cut off
  • Low water pressure
  • A kinked inlet hose
  • The mesh on the inlet valve blocked with sand or rust
  • The inlet valve itself

Solution: Check whether water is reaching the rest of the house. With the tap closed and the washer unplugged, undo the inlet hose at the back, brush the small mesh clean, refit it and open the tap. If the supply is good and the code returns, the inlet valve needs a technician to measure it.

Water does not drain (E2 on the AW-DUK series)

Easy

The washer stops before the spin with water left in the drum.

Possible causes

  • The drain hose end hung too high or sitting in water
  • A kinked or blocked drain hose
  • A front-loader pump filter full of coins or lint
  • The drain pump

Solution: Lower the hose end, lift it out of any standing water and remove any kink. On a front-loader, drain the water through the emergency hose and clean the pump filter. If all of that is fine and the water still does not drain, the pump needs checking.

Lid not closed (E3 on the AW-DUK series)

Moderate

The top-loader refuses to start washing or spinning and shows the code.

Possible causes

  • The lid is not fully closed
  • Clothes or an object stopping the lid from closing
  • The lid switch or lock

Solution: Clear anything caught, close the lid fully, then press Start. If the code stays with the lid closed, the lid switch needs a technician.

Banging or stopping on spin (E4 on the AW-DUK series)

Moderate

The washer bangs during the spin and stops, or shows the code while trying to redistribute the load.

Possible causes

  • Most of the clothes on one side, or an overload
  • The washer not level or on a sloping floor
  • The dampers or tub suspension

Solution: Spread the clothes around the tub, reduce the load and level the feet on firm ground, as the manual advises. If the banging continues with an even load, the dampers or suspension need checking.

The washer stopped with a code from E7-1 to E7-5 (AW-DUK series)

Needs a technician

The display shows E7 followed by a number from 1 to 5, and the washer has stopped.

Possible causes

  • A serious fault according to the manual, usually in the motor, the board or a sensor; the technician pins it down

Solution: Press the power button to stop it, unplug it and do not keep restarting it. The manual says to contact service when this code appears.

Water on the floor around the washer

Moderate

A small pool under or in front of the washer after a wash.

Possible causes

  • A loose inlet or drain hose connection
  • The pump filter cap fitted at an angle
  • Lint built up on a front-loader door seal
  • Excess foam from unsuitable detergent
  • A leak inside the washer

Solution: Close the tap, tighten the connections, refit the filter cap correctly and wipe the door seal. If water still comes from under the cabinet, there is an internal leak and a technician must open the washer.

Toshiba top-loader error codes6

This table covers the AW-DUK1300K series only: the meanings come from the maker's user manual for that series, and the AW-DUK1300KUPEG(MK) sold in Egypt belongs to it. On other Toshiba top-loaders, especially older ones, the same code can mean something else (tables published for other models give E1 for draining and E2 for the lid), and front-loader codes are in a different manual, so check your washer's manual before taking anything apart. The manual says that on some models the E1 to E4 alarms clear when you press Start once the cause is fixed.

Habits that cut down washer faults3

Clean the inlet mesh

Monthly

Check it monthly if your water carries sand, and clean it as soon as filling slows.

The front-loader pump filter

Monthly

Clear coins and lint from it about once a month, and empty pockets before clothes go in.

Wipe the seal and glass after washing

Daily

The manual says lint building up on the seal can cause leaks; also remove any coins or buttons from its folds.

Questions about Toshiba washers2

My Toshiba top-loader shows E2. What should I do?

On the AW-DUK series, such as the AW-DUK1300K, this is a draining alarm: lower the hose end, lift it out of any standing water and remove kinks, then press Start; on some models that is the only way the alarm clears. If the code returns with a clear hose, the pump needs checking. On other Toshiba top-loaders E2 can mean the lid is not closed, so check your washer's manual or send us a photo of the label.

Do these codes apply to a front-loader?

Not necessarily. The table here comes from the AW-DUK top-loader manual, and front-loaders have a different manual. Photograph the code and check your washer's manual, or send it to us with a photo of the label.

Toshiba refrigerators repair

Book a technician

Toshiba fridges sold in Egypt are top-freezer No Frost models such as the 535-litre GR-RT702WE-PMN(06) with an inverter compressor, alongside upright freezers such as the 238-litre GR-RU312WE-DMN(06). The most common complaint is a freezer that freezes while the lower shelves stay warm, which is usually the defrost cycle or the freezer fan, not the refrigerant.

Before you book a technician for a Toshiba fridge

Check that the door closes onto the seal all the way round with no container leaning on it, and that the air vents inside are not hidden behind bags. The maker's FAQ says the fridge should go straight into an earthed socket, with no extension lead or adapter, and that models releasing heat from the sides need at least 10 cm from the wall and more than 30 cm above.

The model is usually printed on a label on the inner side wall. If the display shows letters or numbers that are not the temperature, photograph them with the label and check the user manual, or send both to us together.

Before first use, the maker advises letting the fridge stand for half an hour before plugging it in, then running it empty for two to three hours, or more than four hours in summer, before loading food. If you move it, do not tilt it more than 45 degrees.

Toshiba fridge faults we come across6

The freezer freezes but the lower shelves are warm

Moderate

Food in the freezer is frozen solid, while the vegetables and dairy below are not cold.

Possible causes

  • The defrost heater or its sensor, with ice blocking the air duct
  • A stopped freezer fan
  • Food blocking the vents between the freezer and the fridge
  • A door that does not close properly

Solution: Move food away from the vents and make sure both doors close. Switching the fridge off for a day with the doors open melts the ice as a temporary fix, but if the problem returns within days, the defrost cycle or fan needs a technician.

Ice building up on the freezer's back wall or on the food

Moderate

A growing layer of ice inside a No Frost fridge, which should not form ice.

Possible causes

  • The automatic defrost cycle has stopped working
  • A seal that does not close, letting moisture in
  • A door left ajar or opened very often

Solution: Close the door on a sheet of paper: if it slides out easily, the seal is not closing. If the seal is fine and the ice keeps returning, the fault is in the defrost system itself.

The light works but the fridge does not cool at all

Needs a technician

No compressor sound, or it starts and cuts out quickly, while the inside warms up.

Possible causes

  • Weak mains voltage, or power dropping in and out
  • The fridge running from an extension lead or multi-socket
  • The inverter board
  • The compressor

Solution: Plug it straight into an earthed socket and wait a few hours. On inverter models the board and the voltage are measured before any talk of the compressor, and if your supply fluctuates a suitable stabiliser protects the board.

Water under the crisper drawer or on the floor

Moderate

Water collecting at the bottom of the fridge under the drawer, or dripping in front of it.

Possible causes

  • A blocked or frozen defrost drain
  • The fridge tilting forward
  • The evaporation tray underneath cracked or out of place

Solution: Wipe up the water and make sure the fridge leans very slightly backwards, not forwards. If the water comes back, the drain needs a technician to clear it and check its heater.

Loud noise or clicking

Easy

A louder hum than usual, a fan blade hitting something, or constant clicking.

Possible causes

  • The fridge not level, or touching a wall or cupboard
  • A fan blade striking ice
  • Pipes at the back touching each other

Solution: Level the feet and move it slightly away from the wall. If the noise comes from the freezer together with ice, that points back to the defrost fault.

The upright freezer is not freezing

Moderate

The drawers are cool but the food does not freeze.

Possible causes

  • The appliance switched to fridge mode
  • A door not closing or a worn seal
  • A defrost, fan or compressor fault

Solution: On a model such as the GR-RU312WE-DMN(06), which switches between freezer and fridge, check the mode on the control panel first. If it is on freezer mode and food still does not freeze, book an inspection.

Leave room for ventilation

Yearly

Do not box the fridge into a cupboard, and clear the dust behind and under it.

Questions about Toshiba fridges2

Can I plug a Toshiba fridge into a multi-socket?

No. The maker's FAQ rules out extension leads and unearthed adapters; the fridge should go straight into an earthed socket.

Can the upright freezer run as a fridge?

On a model such as the GR-RU312WE-DMN(06), yes: the retailer's page says it switches between freezer and fridge modes, and the mode is changed on the control panel.

Toshiba TVs repair

Book a technician

Toshiba TVs on sale at 2B today are 4K models with the VIDAA system and a built-in receiver, such as the 55C350RP, including QLED models such as the 65M450RP. The most common fault is sound with a black screen, which is usually the LED backlight or the power board, not the panel itself.

Before you book a technician for a Toshiba TV

Unplug it for a minute and plug it back in, and try another device on a different HDMI input. If there is sound but a black screen, shine your phone torch at the screen from close up: if you can see a faint picture behind it, the backlight has failed and the panel is probably fine.

The model and serial number are on a label on the back. Toshiba sold its TV business to Hisense in 2018, and the models on sale now run the VIDAA system. App and Wi-Fi problems on it are often solved by a software update or a factory reset from the settings, as described in the TV's manual.

Do not open the back of the TV: the power board holds capacitors that stay charged after unplugging, and the panel cracks under any pressure. Any talk of replacing the panel should come after an inspection, because its price can come close to that of a new TV.

television — illustrative photo
Toshiba TV faults that come up again and again5

Sound but no picture

Moderate

Channels and sound work, but the screen is black or very dark.

Possible causes

  • The LED backlight strips
  • The power board feeding the backlight
  • The T-Con board or the panel, less often

Solution: Do the torch test. If a faint picture is visible, the fault is in the backlight or the board, and the repair needs a technician to open the TV on a clean table.

The TV will not turn on and the red light is on or blinking

Moderate

You press the remote and nothing happens, or the light keeps blinking.

Possible causes

  • The remote or its batteries
  • The power board
  • The main board or software

Solution: Turn it on with the button on the set, and unplug it for a minute. If the light blinks and it still will not start, the board needs checking.

Lines, patches, or part of the screen dark

Needs a technician

Fixed vertical or horizontal lines, or a patch that stays whatever the source.

Possible causes

  • A knock or pressure on the panel
  • The panel's flat cables
  • The T-Con board

Solution: Photograph the screen without touching it. If the lines show on every source and in the settings menu too, an inspection decides whether it is the panel or a board. If it is the panel, the technician gives you the price and you compare it with a new TV.

Apps or Wi-Fi not working

Easy

The TV will not connect, or apps keep closing.

Possible causes

  • The router or network
  • Outdated software
  • Wrong date and time settings

Solution: Test the internet on your phone in the same spot, set the time and update the software. If it persists, do a factory reset; this rarely needs a technician.

Channels disappeared from the built-in receiver

Easy

A no-signal message, or many channels gone at once.

Possible causes

  • The dish, the LNB or the cable
  • Channel frequencies have changed
  • The satellite input on the TV

Solution: Check the cable and the dish head, and run a new channel scan. If signal is zero on every channel while the dish works on another device, the input needs checking.

Protect it from power swings

Use a surge protector, and unplug it during a power cut until the supply returns and settles.

Keep the vents clear

Do not set it inside a closed cabinet; heat shortens the life of the LEDs and the board.

Questions about Toshiba TVs2

There is sound but no picture. Is the panel dead?

Not necessarily. Most of the time this fault is in the LED backlight or the power board, and the panel itself is the least likely cause.

Is replacing the panel worth it?

The panel is the most expensive part of a TV. The technician gives you the cost after the inspection; on smaller sizes it often comes close to the price of a new set, so the decision is yours.

Toshiba air conditioners repair

Book a technician

Toshiba air conditioners are not currently on sale at the major Egyptian retailers, so units in homes are usually older or imported models. Their faults are those of any split unit: the filter, the drain, the outdoor unit, the power supply or the refrigerant, and the label on the unit decides the part.

Before you book a technician for a Toshiba AC

Lift the front panel of the indoor unit and wash the filter in lukewarm water. Check the remote is on cooling, not fan only, with the setting below room temperature. Then look at the outdoor unit: is its fan spinning, and is anything around it trapping the air?

The model is printed on a label on the side of the indoor unit and on the outdoor unit. Codes differ between generations, so the meaning of a code is in your model's manual. Photograph the code or the flashing lamp, and both labels.

If the unit trips the breaker every time it starts, or there is a burning smell, switch the breaker off and do not try again. The outdoor unit holds capacitors that stay charged after the power is cut, and refrigerant is strictly a technician's job.

split air conditioner — illustrative photo
AC faults that keep recurring4

Running but not cooling

Moderate

Air comes out, but the room never reaches the set temperature.

Possible causes

  • A clogged filter
  • A dirty outdoor unit, or one boxed in without airflow
  • The outdoor fan or its capacitor
  • Low refrigerant from a leak

Solution: Clean the filter and clear the space around the outdoor unit. If its fan is stopped or the air is still not cold, the technician measures voltage and pressure, and if refrigerant is low the leak must be found before any recharge.

Water dripping from the indoor unit

Easy

Drops on the wall or floor under the unit while it runs.

Possible causes

  • A blocked or kinked drain hose, or one that does not run downhill
  • A dirty filter letting the coil ice up and melt all at once
  • A unit mounted out of level

Solution: Clean the filter and follow the drain hose to its end. If the tray inside is blocked, it is cleared during a unit clean.

Cuts out at midday and the outdoor unit stops

Moderate

Cools well at night, but at midday the compressor stops and restarts.

Possible causes

  • Voltage dropping at peak hours
  • A dirty outdoor condenser
  • The compressor capacitor
  • Low refrigerant overheating the compressor

Solution: Clear around the outdoor unit and watch the voltage when it happens if you have a stabiliser with a display. If it keeps cutting out, the technician measures current and pressure while it runs.

Loud noise or a bad smell

Moderate

Knocking or vibration from either unit, or a damp smell at start-up.

Possible causes

  • Loose bracket or unit bolts
  • A broken fan blade or something caught in it
  • Mould on the coil or water standing in the tray

Solution: Switch the unit off and check nothing has fallen into the outdoor unit. A smell that lasts after the filter is washed needs the coil cleaned, and tightening the bracket is a technician's job, especially when the unit hangs outside a window.

Habits that keep the cooling going2

Wash the filter

Weekly

Every week or two in summer, and let it dry in the shade before refitting.

Clean both units before summer

Yearly

The coil inside and the condenser outside, with a check of the drain hose and connections.

Questions about Toshiba air conditioners2

Why can't I find a Toshiba AC in the shops?

The major retailers do not stock air conditioners under this name at present, and the brand's Egyptian website lists fridges, washers and small appliances but no air conditioners. Units already in homes are repaired like any split, with parts matched to the model on the label.

Does an AC need refrigerant every year?

No. The refrigerant is in a sealed circuit and is not used up by running. If it is low, there is a leak to fix first, and the recharge then uses the type printed on the outdoor unit label.

Toshiba microwaves repair

Book a technician

The Toshiba microwaves on sale at 2B are inverter models such as the 25-litre MW3-EG25PEI(BK) with grill and the 45-litre ML3-EM45PFI(MB). The most common complaint is a lamp that lights and a turntable that turns while the food comes out cold, which is a problem in the heating circuit itself and a job for a technician.

Safety comes first with a microwave

Never remove the microwave's outer casing. Inside are high-voltage parts, including capacitors that keep a dangerous charge even after the plug is pulled. Any fault in the heating itself is repaired by a technician who discharges them first and then measures.

What you can check from outside: that the door closes properly with no food on its edge, that the turntable sits correctly on the ring beneath it, and that the dish is glass or ceramic with no metal trim. If the buttons do not respond while the display works, the child lock may be on; in the manual for a model in the MW3 series it is set and cancelled with a three-second press, and a lock symbol appears.

If you see smoke or flames inside, keep the door shut and pull the plug. Never run the microwave empty; the maker's manual says this is forbidden and dangerous.

microwave oven — illustrative photo
Usual Toshiba microwave problems5

It lights up and the turntable turns, but the food stays cold

Needs a technician

Everything looks normal and the timer counts down, but nothing heats.

Possible causes

  • The magnetron
  • The inverter board or high-voltage circuit
  • One of the door switches

Solution: There is nothing here to try at home. Unplug it and call a technician; all of these parts are in the high-voltage circuit.

Sparks or crackling inside

Moderate

Blue flashes or popping as soon as it starts.

Possible causes

  • A dish with metal trim, or foil
  • Food residue around the waveguide opening on the side wall
  • A burnt or holed waveguide cover

Solution: Stop it at once and remove the dish. Clean the side wall with the small cover; the manual says residue there can cause sparks or smoke. If the cover itself is burnt, it is replaced before the oven is used again.

The turntable does not turn or squeaks

Easy

The plate stays still, or turns noisily and jerkily.

Possible causes

  • The plate or ring out of place
  • Dirty ring wheels
  • The turntable motor

Solution: Take out the plate and ring, wash and dry them and refit them properly. If it still does not turn, the turntable motor is replaced, which is a small repair.

Buttons do not respond while the display is on

Easy

You press and there is no beep and no change on the display.

Possible causes

  • The child lock is on
  • The touch panel or control board

Solution: Try the long press that cancels the child lock, then unplug it for a minute and plug it back in. If it still does not respond, the panel or board needs checking.

The display is completely dead, or it trips the breaker

Needs a technician

No light at all, or the power trips as soon as you close the door or start it.

Possible causes

  • The socket or the plug
  • An internal fuse blown by a door switch
  • A short in the high-voltage circuit

Solution: Try another appliance in the same socket. If the socket works, do not replace the fuse yourself and switch on; a fuse blows for a reason the technician has to find.

Habits that protect a microwave2

Clean the side walls and the small cover

Weekly

Wipe splashes after use, especially around the waveguide cover; residue that burns onto it is what causes sparking over time.

Keep the door edge clean

Weekly

Food stuck on the door edge stops it closing properly, and the oven may then refuse to start.

Questions about Toshiba microwaves2

My Toshiba microwave lights up but won't heat. What should I replace?

Do not replace anything yourself. The cause is usually the magnetron, the inverter board or a door switch, all in a high-voltage circuit. The technician discharges it and measures before naming the part.

What does inverter mean on a microwave?

Instead of the magnetron switching on and off to give lower power, an electronic board adjusts the power continuously. When heating stops on these models, the board is checked along with the magnetron.

Toshiba vacuum cleaners repair

Book a technician

Toshiba vacuums sold in Egypt include the bagless VC-BL200(B), with a 1.8-litre dust cup and HEPA filter, and the bagged 1800 W VC-EA1800SE. The most common complaint is weaker suction, usually caused by a full cup or bag or a clogged filter rather than the motor.

Before you book a technician for a Toshiba vacuum

Unplug it first, empty the dust cup or change the bag, and look inside the hose, tube and floor head for anything blocking them. The VC-BL200 manual says the HEPA filter can be washed in lukewarm water if it is heavily soiled, as long as it dries properly before going back.

If the vacuum stops suddenly while running, the motor protection has usually tripped from overheating rather than failed. The model is on a label on the body, usually underneath.

Do not vacuum water, hot ash or cigarettes; the manual forbids picking up anything burning and warns against use on wet floors. If you smell burning or see sparks from the motor, switch it off and unplug it.

vacuum cleaner — illustrative photo
Common Toshiba vacuum faults5

Weak suction

Easy

The vacuum runs with its usual sound but no longer picks up dust as before.

Possible causes

  • A full dust cup or bag
  • A clogged HEPA or motor filter
  • Something stuck in the hose or tube
  • A cracked hose

Solution: Empty the cup and clean the filters, then test suction at the hose without the tube and head to find where the blockage is. If it is weak even without the hose and with clean filters, the motor needs checking.

It stops by itself after running for a while

Easy

It runs normally, switches off after some minutes, and works again after a rest.

Possible causes

  • The motor protection tripped from overheating
  • A clogged filter or hose making the motor run hot
  • The power cord or plug

Solution: The manual says to unplug it, clear any blockage at the intake and exhaust and clean the filter, then let it cool for more than an hour before switching on. If it stops again with clean filters, the motor or cord needs checking.

A burning smell or sparks near the motor

Needs a technician

A strong hot smell, or sparks visible through the vents.

Possible causes

  • Worn motor carbon brushes
  • A blockage that left the motor running hot for a long time
  • A fault in the cord or internal connections

Solution: Switch it off at once and do not carry on. Brushes, the motor and wiring are repaired by a technician.

Dust blowing out of the back

Easy

Fine dust coming out with the air from the exhaust.

Possible causes

  • The filter not seated properly
  • A torn filter
  • A torn or badly fitted bag on bagged models

Solution: Open the filter cover and seat the filter correctly, and replace the filter or bag if it is torn.

The cord will not rewind or pull out

Moderate

You press the rewind button and the cord does not move, or it winds only halfway.

Possible causes

  • The cord twisted inside
  • The cord reel spring
  • The reel brake

Solution: Pull the cord out gently all the way, then press rewind while guiding it with your other hand so it does not twist, as the manual advises. If it still will not wind in, the reel needs a technician.

Habits that lengthen a vacuum's life2

Empty the cup before it fills

Weekly

A full cup or bag weakens suction and makes the motor run hotter.

Wash the HEPA filter when dirty

Monthly

In lukewarm water, and let it dry completely before refitting; a damp filter goes mouldy and clogs.

Questions about Toshiba vacuums1

My Toshiba vacuum switched itself off mid-use. Is it broken?

Usually not. The VC-BL200 manual says the motor has a protection that cuts it out when it overheats, usually because of a blockage or a clogged filter, and the vacuum works again once it has cooled.

Technology names you will see on Toshiba appliances, and how they relate to faults

These names appear on Toshiba model pages at Egyptian retailers, and not every appliance has all of them. Knowing them saves time in diagnosis.

  • Origin Inverter

Fridges such as GR-RT624WE-PGN(72), washers such as TW-BK115GF4EG(MK), and microwaves such as MW3-EG25PEI(BK)

The brand's name for its inverter control: an electronic board varies the compressor or motor speed, or the heating power, to suit the load instead of switching on and off at a single level.

    Common faults

That board is the part most sensitive to voltage swings. Retailer pages state the GR-RT702WE fridge runs on 150 to 285 V, and if your supply goes outside that range a stabiliser makes a difference.

  • Direct Drive inverter motor

    Top-loaders such as AW-DUK1300KUPEG(MK)

A motor that turns the tub directly, without a belt or pulleys, driven by a board.

    Common faults

There is no belt to slip or snap, so if the tub will not turn or the washer stops with a motor fault code, checks start at the board, sensors and wiring. Not every top-loader from the brand has this motor: the maker's page for the AW-UK1100HUPEG(MK) says it does not.

  • Water Shield filter

Washers such as AW-UK1100HUPEG(MK) and TW-BJ90S2EG(SK)

A filter for the water entering the washer, which the maker's page says removes impurities.

    Common faults

Water carrying sand or rust clogs the inlet filters over time, and filling slows until the washer stops with a filling alarm, so check the water pressure and filters before suspecting the valve.

  • No Frost with multi-level air vents

Fridges such as GR-RT702WE-PMN(06), and upright freezers such as GR-RU312WE-DMN(06)

A fan spreads cold air through vents in several places, and an automatic defrost cycle prevents ice. The GR-RU312WE freezer can also switch to fridge mode.

    Common faults

All the cooling on the shelves comes through these vents, so a container blocking one can leave the shelf in front of it warm while the appliance is fine. And because defrosting is automatic, any visible ice on the freezer's back wall is a sign that the defrost cycle itself needs checking.

How a repair goes

Call 16062
  1. Call us with the model code

Read us the code on the label, tell us what the appliance is doing, and if the display shows something, copy it exactly.

  2. An inspection where the appliance stands

The technician first looks at what can be seen: the supply, filters, hoses and ventilation, then measures the part under suspicion.

  3. The cause and the price before any repair work

You hear the fault, the part needed and the cost, and no work starts until you agree.

  4. A test after the repair and a written warranty

The technician runs the appliance in front of you and tests the repaired part before leaving, and you receive a 6-month written warranty on the work and the part.

Questions about Toshiba repairs

Is Agent Site Toshiba's customer service?
No. We are an independent repair company that services Toshiba and other brands, and we are not affiliated with Toshiba, Elaraby Group or Midea. If the appliance is still under warranty, start with the company named on the warranty card.
Elaraby has stopped working with Toshiba. Is my warranty gone?
No. Elaraby Group announced in December 2025 that it remains committed to after-sales service for every appliance sold under its warranty. If your appliance is still within the period on the card, call them on the number printed there.
Why does the technician ask when the appliance was bought?
Because the brand's appliances in Egypt come from different generations, with models made here years ago and newer ones with other specifications. The full code and the year of purchase help the technician bring the right part on the first visit.
When do I find out the cost?
After the inspection and before any work: the cause, whether the part is original or a compatible replacement, and the final price, and the decision is yours.
