The desert cooler (evaporative cooler) is a device that cools air by evaporating water instead of compressing refrigerant. It is common in dry areas and open spaces such as balconies, workshops and shops. Its maintenance is completely different from a split AC.
A desert cooler pulls in hot air from outside, passes it through water-soaked cellulose pads, so the air comes out cool and humid. It uses no refrigerant or compressor, so its power consumption is low. Its maintenance focuses on the pump, the pads and the float valve.
