An LED TV is an LCD TV lit by LEDs, either along the edges of the screen (edge-lit) or directly behind the panel (direct-lit) — and that matters for the repair: on direct-lit sets we usually replace all the LED strips together rather than a single LED, because the rest have usually aged just as much, while edge-lit sets need more careful dismantling. Its parts: the panel, the LED strips, the T-Con board, the main board, the power board and the speakers. If the panel itself is cracked or has a dead line, a repair is usually not worth it, and we tell you so before any work. The most common brands in Egypt are Samsung, LG, Toshiba El Araby, Sharp El Araby, Sony, Hisense, Haier, Fresh and Panasonic.

Tips to keep your LED TV running
- Plug the TV into a voltage stabiliser to protect it from power surges
- Clean the screen only with a dry microfibre cloth — no cleaning sprays
- Switch the TV off with the remote first; don't cut the power while it is on
- Don't install the TV where direct sunlight hits it
- If the TV will sit unused for a long time, switch it on now and then and update the software
- Unplug it immediately if you hear electrical crackling

Black screen but the sound works — why?
Usually the backlight LEDs have burnt out. Shine a phone torch on the screen — if you can see a faint picture, the backlight is the cause, and the fix is new LED strips.
Lines on the screen — can it be repaired?
Several wide vertical lines usually point to the T-Con board or the ribbon cables. A single thin, permanent line usually means the panel itself, which is rarely economical to repair.
The TV keeps switching itself off — why?
Often swollen capacitors on the power board, sometimes the main board or the backlight protection. A technician checks it — don't open the back yourself; power-board capacitors stay charged after unplugging.
The TV fell and cracked — is it worth repairing?
If the panel itself is cracked, a repair is usually not economical (the panel costs close to a new TV). If only the frame is damaged, it can be replaced.
Do you do wall mounting?
Yes — installation with a wall bracket suited to the TV's size and weight, with the cables tidied and the TV levelled.
How long does an LED TV last?
It depends on the model, the viewing hours and protection from power surges and heat. The backlight is usually the first thing to weaken, so watch for any dimming or patches early.
