A QLED is a regular LED TV with an added layer of quantum dots between the backlight and the panel to improve colour and brightness, so its faults are close to an LED TV's but the build is a little more complex, and it needs a technician experienced with QLED TVs. Its parts: an LED backlight (Mini-LED only on Neo QLED models), the quantum-dot layer, the panel, the T-Con board, the main board, the power board, and a One Connect box on some premium Samsung models. Brands: Samsung (the best known), with TCL, Hisense and others also selling QLED models.

QLED TV — frequently asked questions
What's the difference between QLED and OLED?
QLED is an LED TV enhanced with quantum dots — brighter, and well suited to bright rooms. In an OLED every pixel lights itself — true black, ideal for a home cinema. QLED is usually cheaper and isn't prone to burn-in the way OLED is; OLED has the better picture but costs more.
The One Connect box stopped giving a picture — why?
Either its dedicated cable (One Invisible Connection) is damaged, or the box itself has a power or board fault. A technician experienced with Samsung checks it.
Tizen has suddenly become slow — what should I do?
1) Unplug the TV for a minute, then plug it back in. 2) Update the software and delete apps you don't use. 3) If it is still slow, do a factory reset (this erases accounts and settings). 4) If it stays slow, it is likely the main board — call a technician.
Do you work on Samsung The Frame TVs?
Yes — we repair Samsung The Frame TVs in every size.
How long does a QLED TV last?
It depends on the model, the viewing hours and protection from power surges and heat. A weakening backlight is usually the first sign, so watch for a picture that starts to fade.
Do you repair Samsung Neo QLED TVs?
Yes — Neo QLED uses a Mini-LED backlight that needs a technician experienced with it, and we give you the cost before any work.
