The gas stove is the most common cooker in Egyptian homes, and any leak or poor installation is dangerous — so our technicians specialize in gas connections and leak-test the fittings with soapy water. The stove burns natural gas or bottled gas at the burners; its main parts are the burner heads and jets, the auto-ignition spark electrodes, the flame-safety (magnetic) valves and thermocouples, and the oven thermostat. If a stove is switched between bottled gas and natural gas, the jets must be changed — otherwise the flame burns yellow. The most common brands in Egypt: Fresh, Universal, White Whale, Kiriazi, Beko, Indesit and Premium.

- Clean the grease off the burner caps weekly — blockages stop the ignition working
- Inspect the gas hose every year — if it is cracked or hardened, replace it straight away
- Don't use the stove if you smell gas — close the valve and call the gas emergency line 129

The auto-ignition doesn't work — what's the cause?
Usually a dirty or worn spark electrode. Cleaning it is simple, and if it needs replacing, that is a simple, inexpensive job.
A burner lights with difficulty — what's the fix?
Usually the burner ports or the jet are blocked by dust and grease. A thorough clean of the burners — with the gas off and the stove cold — fixes it in most cases.
The flame goes out as soon as I let go of the knob — why?
Hold the knob in for 10–15 seconds after the burner lights so the safety sensor (thermocouple) can warm up. If it still goes out, the thermocouple or the flame-safety valve needs replacing — that is a job for a technician.
I smell gas — what should I do?
Shut the gas valve (or the cylinder valve), open the windows, don't switch any light or appliance on or off and don't use a lighter, then leave and call the gas emergency line 129 from outside the flat.
The oven doesn't heat — what's the cause?
Usually a faulty thermostat or oven thermocouple, or a blocked oven burner. The repair is a technician's job, with original or compatible parts depending on the model.
Do you install a new stove to replace the old one?
Yes — installation covers connecting the gas (natural or bottled), a soapy-water leak test, fitting a safety valve and a test run of every burner. If the stove is set up for the other gas type, its jets have to be changed first.
