Cooktop Stoves

The cooktop (built-in hob) is a cooking surface that fits into the countertop — not a full stove. Just burners, with no oven. It is common in modern kitchens and compounds because it saves space and looks better. Its maintenance is specialized because it is built into the countertop.

Built-in cooktop in modern kitchen

Cooktops run on gas, electricity, or magnetic induction. Modern cooktops have vitroceramic or tempered glass over the burners. The most common faults: cracked glass, auto-ignition failure, or a faulty heat sensor. The most common brands: Bosch, Indesit and Fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cooktop

The glass cracked — is it worth repairing?

If the crack is small and has not reached a burner, the glass can be replaced. If it is large, replacing the whole cooktop is more economical.

One burner does not light while the rest work — what is the cause?

The magnetic valve for that burner is burnt, or its spark plug is faulty. A simple replacement.

Do you install a new cooktop in the countertop?

Yes — measuring the countertop, cutting the opening to the right dimensions, fitting the cooktop, and connecting the gas/electricity.

Do you service induction cooktops?

Yes — full maintenance for Bosch induction cooktops, with all their electronic sensors.

What is the lifespan of a cooktop?

10-15 years, if the vitroceramic glass is not subjected to impacts.
