Tips to keep your Flat Range Hood running
- Clean the filters every 2–4 weeks — a flat hood is smaller, so its filters clog faster
- Use high speed when frying (a flat hood is less powerful than a pyramid hood)

My flat hood is weaker than a pyramid hood — is that normal?
Yes — a flat hood usually has a smaller motor (about 100–200 W vs 150–300 W), but it suits small kitchens. If you do a lot of heavy frying, a pyramid hood is better. But if suction has dropped compared with before, that is a fault, not the design.
The touch panel isn't responding — what should I do?
1) Dry the panel with a dry cloth (moisture causes problems). 2) Disconnect the power for 5 minutes, then reconnect. 3) If that doesn't work, the panel needs a technician.
The halogen bulbs have burnt out — is replacing them difficult?
No — switch off the power, let the bulb cool, then fit one with the same voltage and wattage. Don't use more powerful bulbs — they'll burn out the transformer.
Do you install flat hoods in narrow kitchens?
Yes — they're very well suited to narrow kitchens. Installation goes under your existing cabinet, with the exhaust duct taken outside or a carbon filter fitted if there is no vent.
How long does a flat hood last?
Usually 8–12 years — slightly less than a pyramid hood, because its smaller motor works harder for its size.
