Pyramid Range Hood Repair

Pyramid hood repair in Egypt — weak suction, a noisy motor, lights and controls. A clear price before any work and a 6-month written warranty. The pyramid hood is one of the most common kitchen hoods in Egypt: a wall-mounted hood whose canopy narrows upward into the chimney. We repair the brands sold here, such as Fresh, Universal, Beko, Bosch and Indesit, as well as Faber and Elica.

Agent Site is an independent repair center — not the manufacturer's authorized service or warranty provider.

A stainless steel pyramid-shaped wall-mounted range hood, sloping trapezoid canopy and narrow rectangular vertical chimney, correctly aligned above a cold gas cooktop in a cream kitchen

A pyramid hood is mounted on the wall above the hob and draws away smoke and steam with a fan, aluminum filters that trap grease, and — on models that recirculate air with no outside vent — a carbon filter that absorbs smells. Components: a motor (typically 150–300 W), the fan, 2–3 aluminum filters, a carbon filter (on models with no outside vent), a button or touch control panel, and lights. Things specific to pyramid hoods: the telescopic chimney cover (two sections that slide into each other) rattles when it works loose; the mounting height above the hob must follow the model manual (often 65–75 cm above gas) — too high weakens suction, too low lets grease overheat and possibly catch fire; the duct diameter and the number of bends affect suction; and a sticking back-draft flap blocks the airflow. Routine care: clean the aluminum filters every 2–4 weeks depending on how much you cook, and replace the carbon filter every 3–6 months depending on use.

Tips to keep your Pyramid Range Hood running

  • Clean the aluminum filters every 2–4 weeks in hot, soapy water (more often if you fry a lot)
  • Replace the carbon filter every 3–6 months depending on use (on models with no outside vent)
  • Switch the hood on a few minutes before cooking and leave it running 10 minutes after you finish
  • Use the highest speed when frying or grilling
  • Wipe grease off the outer body weekly, with the hood unplugged
  • If the outside vent is safely within reach from a balcony, check it every few months — never climb a ladder or lean out of a window
  • Do not leave the hood running all day for no reason
  • If you smell burning or see smoke, switch the hood off, unplug it and do not use it until it has been checked — built-up grease can catch fire from the burner flames

Pyramid Range Hood — frequently asked questions

The hood isn't extracting well — what's the most common cause?

Usually the aluminum filters are clogged with built-up grease that blocks the airflow, and a deep clean restores suction. If it does not, check the exhaust duct and the back-draft flap, then the motor or capacitor.

The hood is making a loud noise — why?

Either the motor bearings are worn from grease, a clogged filter is making the motor work harder, or the chimney cover has worked loose and rattles. Start by cleaning the filters with the hood unplugged; if the noise stays or the chimney cover is loose, a technician will check and secure it.

How often should I clean the aluminum filter?

Every 2–4 weeks depending on how much you cook, and weekly if you fry a lot every day. Unplug the hood before removing the filters; dishwasher-safe filters are easier to clean.

The lights aren't working — what's the fix?

If only one light is out, it is usually the bulb: switch off the power, let it cool and replace it with one of the same voltage and wattage. If all the lights went out together, it is usually the LED driver, which needs a technician.

How long does a carbon filter last?

Usually 3–6 months depending on use — and only on models that recirculate air with no outside vent. Most carbon filters cannot be washed, unless the manual says it is a regenerable long-life filter.

Do you install new pyramid hoods?

Yes — we mount it at the height given in the model manual, take the exhaust duct outside where possible or fit a carbon filter if there is no vent, and run a test, with a written warranty.

How long does a hood last?

Usually 10–15 years with regular cleaning; the motor is typically the first part to tire with heavy use.

Do you work on Faber and Elica hoods?

Yes — we repair Faber and Elica hoods with original or compatible spare parts, depending on the part and model.
