Servicing and repair of dual control boards
Combo room repair (combined cooler and freezer) — a single room split into two sections by an insulated wall and an internal door, saving space and operating cost. Servicing two units in one system. Call **16062**.
Combo rooms contain two independent refrigeration systems, or one system with control valves. They require great skill to set the temperature for each section and prevent cold transfer between them. Common faults are failure of the dividing wall insulation and failure of the dual control board.
The most frequent faults we encounter while servicing Combo — ranked by occurrence.
Failed dual controller board
Worn gasket on the door dividing the cooler and freezer
Failure of one of the solenoid valves (if the system is shared)
Low refrigerant in one of the two circuits
Servicing and repair of dual control boards
Replacement of internal and external door gaskets
Refrigerant charging and compressor servicing for each section independently
Restoration of dividing wall insulation and prevention of thermal leakage
Inspection and calibration of the expansion valves for both sections
It saves a lot of space in the store and sometimes needs only one combined outdoor unit, which reduces power consumption and maintenance cost.
In most designs, yes, because each section has an independent refrigeration circuit, but an inspection is essential to prevent the fault from affecting the healthy section.
